Big government trying to regulate us again. It's my property I should be able to do what I want without the government intruding on my constitutional rights. LOL
Just kidding. Actually, the only thing I would wonder about is that there are a lot of wooded properties in Lockport. I would think that an ordinance of that type would be difficult to write.
I agree, but after attending the meeting where it was presented to the Board, it was aimed towards properties that look like the one on Lover's Lane (which, someone is now cleaning up !). There's another one LL that's looking just as bad.
What's the issue with tall grass and various wild flowers? I mean, other than anal people thinking a yard should like a canvas painted green? Can't we call it a meadow or mow around the perimeter and call it a nature zone?
I know that one of the ways that is mentioned with regard to managing our water supply is to allow local flora to grow rather than forcing kentucky bluegrass cut to 2.5 inches to grow. The bluegrass then needing to be watered and mowed. I think people who do that usually show some kind of planning - edging, etc. - not just "letting it grow" as these properties have done.
If our ancestors--or people in less wealthy countries-- could see how much fuel energy, bodily energy, and water we use on something we can't even EAT, they'd have our heads checked.
