Sturgis resident is seeking the recall of Sturgis Mayor John Carmichael.

The statement filed Wednesday (March 10th) says, "John Carmichael has prohibited the free exercise of the Christian religion in that he refuses to allow the name of Jesus Christ to be mentioned during the invocation at Commission meetings of which Christ is the central figure of the Christian religion."

St. Joseph County Election Commission clears way for circulation of petitions to recall Sturgis mayor.
