Sturgis city commissioners have approved guidelines for future invocations. What's included in those guidelines was the subject of a 30-minute discussion Wednesday.

Members of the clergy or city commission may, on a first-come, first-served basis, sign up to give an invocation. Proper opening inscriptions are "Mighty God," "Our Maker," "Source of All Being" or "Creator and Sustainer."

The guidelines are a combination of ones presented to the city commission by city attorney Roger Bird and Steve Clark, president of the Sturgis Ministerial Association. Read More - Sturgis Journal
