Daschle made nearly $5.3 million in the last two years, records released Friday show, including $220,000 he received for giving speeches, many of them to outfits that stand to gain or lose millions of dollars from the work he would do once confirmed as secretary of Health and Human Services.
For instance, the Health Industry Distributors Association plunked down $14,000 to land the former Senate Democratic leader in March 2008. The association, which represents medical products distributors, boasts on its website that Daschle met with it after he was nominated to discuss "the impact an Obama administration will have on the industry." Yes I am glad the era of Bush and government corruption is over.

Actualy, as far as I know, it is only Tim Geithner and Tom Daschle who have had problems with paying their taxes. Although I think Mr. Dachle's problems are in areas other then just non payment of taxes so this may just may just be the beginning for him.

I'm not an Obama supporter, but sadly I have to say that corruption and disregard for laws is so wide-spread at the Washington Capitol, he is hard-pressed to find anyone with an unblemished record to fill any spot.

Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius recently corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors" -- the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee.
