Posted - 12/18/2009 : 12:17:17 PM quote: Makeable, doable and 'optimistically conservative' are words Bill Russell, president and CEO of Three Rivers Health, used in describing the hospital's 2010 budget adopted by the Three Rivers Health Authority Board during its December meeting Thursday morning (December 17th).
The spending plan projects net income for the next 12 months of just over $600,000 ($607,759) which would be a vast improvement over a loss of more than $3 million in 2008. A loss of around $639,000 ($639,512) is anticipated for the current year.

Posted - 11/22/2009 : 3:03:48 PM So I wonder what happened to all the financial doom and gloom spouted by the previous CEO when trying to wring a millage out of us? AND if the figures were so skewed who was to blame the CFO who is still in situ? This is still murky and still leaves an odor. |

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 1:57:25 PM I keep hearing that now that Matt Chambers is gone everything is going to be great. I was no fan of Matt Chambers. I feel that the situation was allowed to go on for too long. It was not just Matt Chambers. There is a lot of work that has to be done at the hospital before it can be considered a quality institution. The quality of care needs to be addressed. Customer service skills need to be evaluated and improved. The attitudes of some staff members need to be dealt with. When staff members are allowed to function the way that they want to in a dysfunctional environment, it is difficult for them to understand what is required to do a quality job. Should these staff members be replaced with some of the people who have lost their jobs and have a good work ethic and customer service skills? I hope that the new CEO can make a positive change. I also hope that the authority board treats him with the respect that he deserves. If he is not doing a satisfactory job-don't let him continue to do it without intervening and working together for a solution. It wasn't just Matt Chambers. He did the job that he did because he was allowed to. |

Posted - 09/26/2009 : 09:30:53 AM That's a long way from 'the hospital will have to shut down if we don't get this millage' isn't it? And certainly it goes to show, what many have said time and time again, that the management of the hospital was the issue, not the funding.
What raises my blood pressure is that the maker of that statement is now being feted for his 'work' here, with another 'farewell' being planned next month. Presumable not enough people turned up to the original farewell.... |

Posted - 08/06/2009 : 10:43:18 PM A source close to the Hospital board told me that the road had been closed without any reference to the board and that it was the last straw as far as they were concerned. High administrative costs for the top level, all the negativity over the millage debacle, and the ongoing problems with the bottom line. Maybe things will change if the hospital picks a local person who has a vested interest in our community. |
